Dwayne Johnson Reveals His Whole Family Tested Positive For COVID-19

Dwayne Johnson Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram on Wednesday (September 2) to share a lengthy video message to fans revealing that he, along with his wife Lauren Hashian and daughters, 4-year-old Jasmine and 2-year-old Tiana, tested positive for COVID-19. Though his children "bounced back" from the virus rather quickly, the 48-year-old actor and his wife "had a rough go at it."

"I wanted to give you guys a little helpful update on things that have been going on on my end for the past two-and-a-half to three weeks now. So the update is this: my wife Lauren as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for COVID-19," he said in the clip.

"I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well," Johnson continued. "And I've gone through some doozies in the past."

"Testing positive for COVID-19 is much different than overcoming nasty injuries, or being evicted, or even being broke, which I have been more than a few times," the Jumanji star explained, adding that the biggest difference "is because my number one priority is to always protect my family. And protect my children, my loved ones."

He said his family contracted the virus from friends who are "devastated" they unknowingly spread it. "I wish it was only me who tested positive, but it wasn't, it was my entire family, so this one was a real kick in the gut," Johnson lamented before assuring fans that he and his family have recovered. "But I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good. We're on the other end of it, we're on the other side. We're no longer contagious, and we are — thank God — we are healthy."

"We've gotten through COVID-19 stronger and healthier," he added.

He urged followers to be cautious about who they let into their homes and keep their bodies healthy. He also emphasized the importance of wearing a mask, mentioning his family was "in quarantine for months" and wear their masks "every day."

"Use me as your example," he concluded. "Remember these takeaways that I shared with you and stay healthy, my friends, and I'll see you down the road."
