Kirk Hammett Felt Bad About Paying $87,000 for Neal Schon Guitar

Metallica's Kirk Hammett felt guilty after buying a guitar from Neal Schon at an auction for $87,500, believing he had paid less than its value. Hammett offered to return the guitar to Schon, who declined the offer. The Metallica guitarist praised Schon as an inspiration and admired his dedication to music. Metallica also donated $100,000 to emergency operations in Venezuela through their All Within My Hands foundation following devastating earthquakes in the region.

Disney Unveils Oasis Doc Trailer

Oasis fans are getting their first look at the band's upcoming reunion documentary. Disney released the trailer for "Don't Look Back in Anger" over the weekend.The film will give fans an inside look at the Gallagher brothers' first performance togeher in 16 years. The film will premiere in select theaters and IMAX on September 11th. It will then hit Hulu and Disney-Plus later in the year.

Muse Kick Off North American Tour

Muse's North American tour is now underway. The British rockers hit the stage at Milwaukee's Summerfest last week to kickoff the trek. Muse powered through a 24-song set that spanned their entire career. Five songs from their latest album, "The Wow! Signal" were included. Hits like "Supermassive Black Hole," "Madness" and "Knights of Cydonia" also made the set list. Muse will wrap up their tour August 31st in Los Angeles.

Smashing Pumpkins Perform At America's Block Party

America's 250th birthday is now in the history books and it was marked with a big performance by the Smashing Pumpkins. The alt-rock pioneers took part in America 250's America's Block Party event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday. They performed six songs, including "1979," "Tonight, Tonight" and "Today." Tickets for the show that benefitted America 250's Giving 4th initiative were just 17-dollars-and-76-cents and thousands of free tickets were given out to veterans, service members and first responders.Chris Stapleton, Maren Morris and Queen Latifah also performed at the event.

Sharon Osbourne Marks First Wedding Anniversary Without Ozzy

Sharon Osbourne is marking her and Ozzy's first wedding anniversary since his passing. She took to Instagram on Saturday to note the occassion, sharing a photo of the two holding hands. Sharon wrote in the caption, "Today would have been our 46th wedding anniversary.Instead, it is a celebration of a love that even death could not diminish." Ozzy died last July after a battle with Parkinson's disease.Yesterday also marked one year since his "Back to the Beginning" concert that saw him take the stage for the final time.

Motley Crue Play Four Songs For First Time In Over A Decade

It looks like Motley Crue is digging deep for their latest setlist.Vince Neil and company added four songs that they haven't played in almost a decade when they took the stage in Winnipeg on Saturday. They included "Red Hot" from "Shout at the Devil" for the first time since 2013 and "Louder Than Hell" from "Theatre of Pain" for the first time since 2015. They also played a full version of "Smokin' in the Boys Room" as well as "Take Me To The Top," which hadn't been played since 1984. The band has another festival date in Vancouver coming up on July 12th before they kick off their Return of the Carnival Sins Tour on July 17th.

METALLICA Donates $100,000 To Support Venezuela After Devastating Earthquakes

Metallica's charitable foundation, All Within My Hands, has donated $100,000 to support relief efforts in Venezuela following two earthquakes on June 24. The donation will aid in emergency medical assistance, search-and-rescue operations, and aid for displaced residents. Direct Relief is distributing supplies and working with local organizations to provide healthcare to those affected. The grant will also support the deployment of a search-and-rescue organization on the ground. Donations can be made through Direct Relief to support ongoing relief efforts.

Metallica Scholars Initiative Expands To 93 Schools For Eight Years

Metallica are adding 18 schools to their Metallica Scholars Initiative.For year eight, they're launching the initiative's largest grant to date, with over three-point-three-million-dollars. With the new schools, the MSI roster now has 93 community colleges across the U.S. on its list. Fifteen of the new schools will receive 75-thousand-dollars to exchange the student experience within career and technical educational programs, while three others will receive 50-thousand-dollars for new equipment.MSI was launched in 2019 and began with ten schools.
