Sting is being sued by his bandmates in The Police!
Both, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers are suing over royalties. Summers is claiming a missing co-writing credit on "Every Breath You Take," their biggest hit.
"It's now past two billion plays on Spotify, so it is actually the most-played song of all-time history," Summers said. "Which makes my guitar riff one of the most-played riffs in history."
To this day Sting gets complete credit for the song, which pays him $745,000 a year in royalties. Apparently, both Summers and Copeland have been attempting to settle matters out of court for years, but have not been able to get things resolved so now its up to the courts.
Sting has been touring with a new band with his longtime guitarist Dominic Miller and Chris Maas from Mumford & Sons, and the band have released the new single "I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart)". The single comes with a new video of the band playing live, as the group will head out on tour this month.
